You are the
SALT and the LIGHT |

Become a Vital
Part of the
Congregational Foundation

Salt |
|
You already believe in the mission
of the National Association of Congregational Christian
Churches…
“To encourage and assist local churches in their
development of vibrant and effective witnesses to Christ in
Congregational ways.”
Now you can put that belief into action by making a donation
or bequest to the Congregational Foundation which supports the
work of the National Association. Your bequest will be the salt
that gives flavor to the banquet long after you are gone.
THE CONGREGATIONAL FOUNDATION MISSION
“To further the Congregational Way by providing financial
support to the National Association of Congregational
Christian Churches (NACCC) through a responsible, dynamic
Foundation.”
HOW THE FOUNDATION IS ORGANIZED
The Congregational Foundation is a separate organization, linked
to the NACCC through its mission and operating practices. The
Foundation manages assets (in accordance to donor wishes) while
at the same time seeking new opportunities to raise funds for
the vital work of the National Association as defined by the NA
leadership.
Foundation fundraising is directed toward programs, projects,
and new initiatives and does not compete with the operating
budgets of NACCC organizational units

Light |
|
The Foundation sheds light on
the most urgent needs of our community, to ensure that funds are
used in accordance with those priorities.
The task of determining needs is separate from the task of
fundraising and fund disbursement. The Executive Committee of
the NA has the responsibility of providing a prioritized list of
needs each year to the Foundation. The Foundation then disburses
funds according to those priorities established by the Executive
Committee, the wishes of donors, and the prescribed purpose of
grants and gifts.
Should you choose, your donation or bequest to the
Congregational Foundation will become part of a permanent
endowment. Thus, because the principal of such gifts given
in perpetuity will never be invaded, your contribution will
continue to benefit the work of the NACCC into the future.
Annually, a maximum 6% drawdown rate on endowments will be made.
Of this drawdown, 1% will be used to support administrative
expenses, and 5% will be used to support programs and
initiatives approved by the Executive Committee or designated by
donors.
Gifts received by The Foundation which are not intended to be
endowments will be used for the specific designation and within
the timeframe established by the donor.
The Foundation’s goal is to cover administrative expenses with
drawdown income in four to five years.

No matter where we are on our
faith journeys as Congregational Christians,
we all have been called tofurther the Kingdom of God on earth.
As individuals and faith communities, we have found
many ways to respond to God’s call.
To respond more completely, to become salt to one another and
the world,
and to share more fully the light that came into the world
through Jesus Christ,
we embark on this quest to strengthen our stewardship of
financial resources.
In so doing we will be furthering the Kingdom.
